@lnxw48 my compromise, since I live in both worlds, is Chrome is my “compromised” browser where I use Google Talk, Facebook, Twitter, and now Netflix. I don’t do any random browsing on it at all. Separately, I use iceweasel or midori or uzbl for FLOSS sites and browsing. I also use CLI clients for all of the above as much as possible to further obfuscate my data.

Sadly, I don’t want to be posting political stuff. I want to post about food, books, friends, and snow. The current state of the world doesn’t allow for silence, however. It demands we speak up, & speak out. It’s up to us, there is no one else.

@steve Reading between the lines, Google struck a deal so Netflix (and presumably other similar services) could work natively on its Chromebooks. So it’s not only the updated nss library, it’s the addition of EME to Chrome’s code (but not Chromium’s). The “good” news is EME is coming to Firefox.

Ah! Google Chrome and Chrome only has Encrypted Media Extensions, for now. I believe EME is on the horizon for FF.

nope. Just tested with Firefox 34 and 36 (Aurora).

@theru @aqeel I tried chromium plus the newest nss, but it didn’t work, at least in Arch.

@aqeel Yes, though I’m not sure why, since both use the same version of NSS. So on Arch google-chrome works, chromium doesn’t

#Netflix now works on Google Chrome in Linux natively. No more Wine and 12 dependencies to get it to work :)
