say, would anyone want to get together and write up an unofficial fediverse newsletter? i wouldn't! but i'd love to plan on reading it and never get around to it
@uranther@zigg the problem is, we can talk about how much better decentralization would be (and i like doing that), but our tools for it tend to be primitive. even mastodon isn't really decentralized, by some folks' definitions, because it does rely on individual centralized servers. and we can look at how one instance recently crashed and, practically speaking - even though the federated toots are "out there" - the data (and certainly accounts) aren't easily salvageable.
