I can remember, because I lived through it, back in the 1970s when we thought women's liberation should make things more or less equal pretty quickly, and that was a good thing. If not right away, then probably in 10 years, and certainly in 20 years........ but now it's 50 years later, a half century! And we're still waiting??!!
