@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon something I find amazing about all this is we all know we need to ground the airplanes to have a future at all, right? like, every day air travel depletes more of our resources and damages the environment more than almost anything else we do on earth. but for the past two years the people who were supposed to care about the environment have been arresting climate and water protesters in both the US and Europe, and they have been obsessed with the moral value of putting on a mask on airplanes when we know we shouldn't be flying them at all.

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon masking and vaccinating appear to have replaced all other moral signs, like helping the poor, taking care of your environment, sharing knowledge and resources, … everyone just decided all at once that masking would be the one sign to stand for "our tribe". it's been several years of this now and people have been dying in poverty and alienation because you've completely lost yourselves thinking about nothing else.

@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon no, that's the point, people lost their jobs if they didn't submit to these injections, people became homeless, they died in poverty, and the masks don't work, right? if we do submit, we're forced to sit in badly ventilated rooms to work, pretending that masks will protect us. and if we dare object, we're one of those stupid redneck right wingers you're "just" making fun of all the time. it's dishonest, you use them as a prop to enforce policies you favor and make it seem ridiculous to protest. it's not irrational to reject useless or dangerous health policies and arm yourself against a government that is your enemy and that seeks to enslave you.

@strypey "the mainstream" was always a network of overlapping subcultures. that's what "lowest common denominator" means. what now? mass work, mass culture. we either change the way we live, or fail.
