After getting some decent exposure to FreeBSD, I'm really loathing going back to doing anything slightly complicated using the Linux network stack. It feels weird installing separate utilities and kernel modules just to make simple VLANs or Bridges work, and don't get me started on the dog's mess of Linux's userland network utilities.. loads of duplication of function, an ifconfig barely deserving of the name and I have even made "ip" crash just passing invalid CLI params. Ugh, seriously?
