I've been a bit out of the fediverse, but hey, my Twitter deactivation process just hit 30 days and I'm officially out of the bird platform!

@jgoerzen I don't think people would be keen to setup their own boxes, people like my mom.
BUT, we need to create a world where more and more people can run services and offer to their local communities. We need services to be small, local and to grow naturally.
@jgoerzen yeah! I see self hosting like gardening. It needs attention, care, learning. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but it requires time and energy. That’s why I think most people won’t do it, like most people don’t do gardening, unfortunately :(
