Here's one I came across recently. I have done NO research on it, so you're on your own as to whether it is truly safe and private. https://private.sh/ ( #Private.sh uses #Gigablast https://gigablast.com/ as its back end. ) In conversation from nu.federati.net permalink Attachments

Temporary Marjolein (mk@oracle.skilledtests.com)'s status on Sunday, 21-Aug-2016 11:46:09 UTC Temporary Marjolein I'm *very* unhappy with DuckDuckGo right now. Already as soon as they switched to Yahoo! "technology" I noticed an increase in irrelevant results - before, DDG was preferable for its relevant search results only. Today I did a search for [tiny VPS in Netherlands] (remove []), and on the first page alone I get two sex-related "results", one for an eye-care company ('VSP') and one for breadcrumbs at Amazon. WTF? The "VSP" might have been a typo in the page but I checked the code and "VPS" does not occur one single time. I'm used to DDG being far more to-the-point - I wish they'd go back to Yandex! !grrr #search Does anyone have suggestion for a better search engine? (NOT Google, that shows even more irrelevant cr**) In conversation from oracle.skilledtests.com permalink -

That means it won't work for me. Oh well... the #search goes on :( #bookmarking In conversation from oracle.skilledtests.com permalink -

Temporary Marjolein (mk@oracle.skilledtests.com)'s status on Sunday, 17-Aug-2014 17:54:50 UTC Temporary Marjolein oh, nostalgia! the web without Google, without web-based search engines even, without even a browser available (no good anyway without web-based search engines)... yet I did search the web! via Archie, used via email! I just found a printout of a result for the search 'archie [find java]', 25 Dec 1995. I am definietly NOT going to throw that away :D #web #history #search #archie In conversation from oracle.skilledtests.com permalink
