I bought us all Sony #PlayStation #PS4 and #Nintendo #Switch consoles years back. (Myself, #sonOne, #sonTwo, #Daddy_A). Additionally, I bought #A1, #GD1, #GD2 each their own Nintendo #2DS handhelds (and 2nd son sonTwo and I each got a #3DS handheld).
Part of the plan was that we'd all play together and thereby increase our time spent together and our communication, but that never happened, so I stopped buying consoles.

> when you're invested in a game, you want to push through a little bit more
That is probably my issue. I quit after the slightest frustration. #PS4 decides it needs to update the OS and the game? Okay forget playing today.

Playing a little MegaMan on the #3DS. I and Daddy_A have MegaMan 11 for the #Switch (even though I don’t think I’ve played it yet), and I think I bought it for all of us on the #PS4, too.

Someone talking about Stardew Valley. I bought the game for #PS4, but I have still never played it. I also bought it for #Little_Boy_A to play on the #Switch.
-
@guizzy This brings a question to mind. Does the #PSVR work with both the #PS4 and #PS5? That's quite an expensive piece of hardware to have it go obsolete so early.

> What would be a good PS4 game to get a 15yr old boy from one of those christmas star donation programs?
> All i know about him is he's 15, wants art supplies, legos and a ps4 game.
> I'm trying not to assume he has internet.
> Originally i was thinking of getting him minecraft.

> Next thought was maybe a racing game..? Idk.
Anyone have any suggestions about #PS4 games for teen boys that I can relay to her? This is one of those buy for kids from low-income families programs, so she's not even sure they have Internet access.

Feature update to Win10 version 20H2.
There’s really nothing in there worth the hassle of an “upgrade”.
And what’s with a previous update installing all this #XBox toolbar garbage? I don’t have one and even if I did, I wouldn’t want to link it with my laptop.
If I was a US Attorney, I’d be sending a strongly-worded letter to Microsoft with words like “antitrust” and “monopoly”, and asking them what outreach they’ve done to Sony and Nintendo about adding similar tools to work with _their_ gaming consoles.
Though, to be honest, I wouldn’t connect my #PS4 or my #Switch to the laptop either.

@mangeurdenuage Family gaming night! That's what I was trying to do when I bought my sons #PS4 and #Switch consoles, but so far, we've never had everyone together in one session.
-
I still occasionally play the #PS4, the #Switch, or the #3DS (in decreasing order). But with the last two, 10-20 minutes and I don't even want to look at the machine for a week or two. At least I always have a low-key desire to play the PS4.
I currently have no plans to purchase the next generation of consoles unless utilization is much higher.

Too #trusting. I don't think I would lend out my #PS4 to anyone except certain family members, though I could see helping someone buy their own unit.
-
Coming this late in the #PS4’s lifetime, one should expect that the #PS5 will do this and more when it is released.

@mangeurdenuage I don't know if older hardware like #PS4* has a built-in microphone. I think most people use headsets for that.
* I bought the console for myself and my kids at release, so it is years old already.
-
Got a $20 headset that says it works with both #PS4 and #Switch. I guess I'm really going to play this game with 2 sons and 1 grandson.
-
#Target had #Fortnite for #PS4, but I couldn’t stand waiting long enough for someone to unlock the cabinet. #Little_Boy_A is going to have to wait a while before I can play with him.
-
Speaking of entitled. I would buy a lot more games for #PS4 and #Switch if they didn't think $60 should be the standard price. I don't play them often enough to pay that much, but I would pay $20-$30 for a lot of the games I see.

I remember buying CoD:Ghosts ( #PS4 ) for myself and all three kids. Then I tried playing it and knew we were never going to all play it together.
-
Well, I do have a TV, but all it does is connects to my #PS4 / #PS3 / #Switch. No cable or satellite service, no antenna for over-the-air.
-
Dang. Rutabaga (the #Lenovo IdeaPad that is basically a netbook) is becoming like my #PS4. It seems like every time I log in, it has kernel updates that will require a reboot.

Most modern multiplayer console games are multiplayer by being online, so your friends can play from their homes and you from your home. But to be honest, I bought each of my sons a #PS4 they year it was released so we could have family gaming time. In all those years, I've played 2-3 times with one son and never with the other two. (The two younger boys do occasionally play together.)
We're just never all available at the same time. One son being 10 and 12 years older than the others also makes a difference.
Controller 2 is useful just in case the first one stops working.
