#sonTwo says that #GS3 and #GS4 know Grandpa is coming. #GS5 does not know why he got kicked out of his room.
#sonOne has not said whether #GS1, #GD1, #GD2 know I'm coming. I'm not expecting to see #GS2, as he lives some distance (2-3 hours drive time in each direction), on top of him being 25.
I expressed that it would be great if #Daddy_A could visit during this time. It has been something like 20 years since all three of them were present at the same place and time.
For example, #GD2’s brother #GS2 is 25 years old. If I send a birthday or Christmas gift, I receive a thank you note. If I send greetings on New Year’s Day or Independence Day, I’ll receive a response. Other than that, he doesn’t communicate. And because he’s well able to communicate if he chooses, his non-communication means that I’m only rarely willing anymore to make an effort outside of certain special days.
@simsa04 #sonOne tells me that #GS1 is taking one college class and that he's got a history of walking into relatively decent paying jobs even without training.
He suggests that #GS2 may need a psychiatric evaluation for something like ADHD. But he's living with his grandmother, so there's no one to make sure it happens.
Moving with a 3 year old and a 1 year old sounds like an interesting experience. The prior house had been child proofed before he was born. With this one, they are still installing the special latches on cabinet doors, special electrical outlets, special door handle covers that require hand strength*, and so on.
* When his cousin #GS2 (now 24) was 10, he still did not have a strong enough grip to open doors with those handle covers. I remember having to open doors for him.
I should clarify that the two oldest boys ( #GS1, age 25; #GS2, age 23 ) and the oldest girl ( #GD1, age 14 ) are the only ones old enough for vaccination until now.
#sonOne is happy to be able to get #GD2 vaccinated.
I just thought about it, but I don't know whether her older siblings #GS1 and #GS2 are vaccinated. It may be that only one ( #GD1 ) out of 9 grandkids is currently vaccinated.
When her brother #GS2 was this age (9) or a little older, I had suggested something similar, but it never happened. I’m glad to see this happening with this amazing little girl.
Also got a Fathers' Day message from #sonOne on #Wire ... including a continuation of our discussion about trying to get #GS1 and #GS2 some vocational training. They moved out, so he cannot just enroll them at the local job training center.
I did alert #sonTwo, but since the family is all sick, they can’t go to a shelter anyway. #GS1 and #GS2 are also near the storms, but telling them to make sure their cell phones get emergency alerts is more than I can expect them to do. (Twenty-somethings.)
