#GD2’s school is still giving them the option of remote learning, but #GD1’s school is not … and not enforcing masking and not upgrading the ventilation system to help remove microbes and viruses. As the younger daughter is too young to be vaccinated, he is not desirous of having the older daughter bring #COVID-19 home and infect her sister.
The disease itself is supposed to be milder with most younger patients, but there are reports of pretty serious post-COVID symptoms among under-10s.
#AL doctor reveals that unvaccinated patients request #COVID-19 vaccine when they realize they're in danger of dying.
Someone objected that this could not possibly be true and I responded:
> I know there's a political thing where people produce all sorts of made-up statistics about ultra-low "real" death rates for COVID-19 and ultra-high rates for the vaccinations, but seriously, are people so dedicated to their political views that they're willing to die of a now preventable disease?
#Ivermectin is a nerve toxin to invertebrates, which is why it is useful against parasitic insects. I don't know why #COVID-19 #anti-vaxxers decided it might be anti-viral, but they're wrong. Maybe they should stop exaggerating vaccine side effects and make the rational decision to take the shots.
> Ivermectin has long been used to treat parasitic worms in humans and sees frequent use for similar purposes in livestock and is very effective for both purposes. In contrast, little good evidence exists to justify its use in treating COVID-19. Both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA) advise against its use. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization only recommends its use within clinical trials.
> To date, much of the evidence supporting ivermectin’s use in treating COVID-19 has been weak and inconsistent. A few studies have found a positive effect for ivermectin, with many others finding no effect.
That sounds like it is the cornerstone study, that most of the buzz around #ivermectin sprung from this study, and that its retraction seriously damages the chances of approval as a treatment for #COVID-19.
This is only one study. The sloppiness displayed may not be present in other #ivermectin studies ... but given the level of excitement among #COVID-19 #anti-vaxxers, there is likely to be lots of pressure for this drug to work.
So far, the only food he eats without fighting is #yogurt. He even rejected salad and french fries (two of his favorites). They ordered #pizza for tonight, hoping that he still likes that.
Probably another good reason to enforce mask-wearing and handwashing at schools. Schools are almost always overcrowded to begin with, so distancing is not possible.
Me: Did you miss the 1976 "Swine Flu" H1N1 influenza vaccine? Or the pertussis vaccine that failed in San Diego about ten years ago? Did you miss that Moderna's tests had 35K subjects and BioNTech/Pfizer had 40K in their tests? I think you need to redo your research, because your statement is false.
I really need to just let people *be wrong on the Internet*.
