    I'd strongly urge some caution if you plan to attend any events or visit crowded spaces in mid-July or after in Milwaukee. Masks on in crowds, or stick to smaller, private, and outdoor socializing. I know many think #COVID19 is a mild acute illness. They're wrong, and that misunderstanding could cost them or those they love their health and wellbeing for months, years, or a lifetime. (3/4)

    As many as a thousand people will arrive in Milwaukee infected with #COVID19. They'll infect others on the trip here, and they'll spread infections in convention halls, restaurants, and events. They'll be sick, and they won't care--it will not stop them from participating in loud, crowded events. They won't just infect each other but will spread the new immune-evasive summer variants to local residents. Then they'll go home, leaving a wave of infections behind in our city. (2/4)

    A thread for my friends and neighbors in #Milwaukee #Wisconsin:

    While #COVID19 risks in Milwaukee remain fairly modest, in two weeks, we'll host one of the largest US superspreader events of 2024: The RNC. Around 50,000 conventioneers, media, and protesters will descend on the city, including from places with high COVID viral spread. And these will include the most vehemently anti-vax, least COVID-cautious, highest-risk people in the nation. (1/4)

    My nephew went out with his on and off girlfriend to celebrate a birthday. She sat her drink down somewhere and someone put something in it, so she had some nausea and dizziness for a while.

    They left and later found out that they’d picked up #COVID-19 / #2019-nCoV … which spread to all of her family members and their baby. Since they can’t afford to be off-work, I suspect they’re going to work anyway.

    I told all this to #sonOne and he agrees.

    But this is the same doctor who recommended not getting the #COVID-19 shots until they’ve been out at least five years, so maybe he got his license out of a Cracker Jack box.

    #sonTwo has not given me any updates on the kids’ conditions. If they were worsening, I know he would have called. He did tell me that the doctor believes that all three boys and their mom caught #RSV and that the pneumonia that #GS4 and #GS5 got is a residual from that.

    Unfortunately, the doctor didn’t do any tests because he said the primary cause was over and done with. (I had asked whether the doctor had tested for any of the diseases that are filling emergency rooms right now: #COVID-19 / #2019-nCoV, RSV, #influenza / #flu )

    Honestly, I'm more interested in the continuing actions of #anti-vaxers & #anti-maskers, especially those who are #pollies. They're doing more to spread #2019-nCoV / #COVID-19 NOW than any efforts to keep things secret in late 2019.

      Making matters worse, this sign of cardiovascular damage is being seen in asymptomatic children as well as kids experiencing COVID symptoms.

    One brother and his spouse and his in-laws have #COVID-19. He said he got infected, was given Paxlovid. After treatment, he tested free of #SARS-CoV-2, then a week after testing negative, he tested positive again.

    Another brother is also infected, but as far as I'm aware, his spouse is not.

    They haven't been in the same place at the same time since May, I believe, so they didn't get #2019-nCoV from each other.

    I noticed some symptoms, so I took a home test and it showed negative. My sister has weekly tests for work (she's a schoolteacher), so I know that she also tested negative or she couldn't go to work. Mom said she's had some symptoms. We're waiting for her to test.

    One of my brothers has been doing a lot of travelling for work. He recently had a high fever, so he went to the emergency room. It is #COVID-19. So far, I have not heard about any severe symptoms.

    Rye @medli@shitposter.club got #COVID-19 from a co-worker who thought #2019-nCoV was over and did not know they had it. In case you did not know, #SARS-CoV-2 is still spreading, making people sick, leaving an array of longer lasting symptoms, and sometimes ending their lives.
