#APConf also did a good job of making me "feel time passing"
I was relaying an example about how we have to be careful about how not to panic after a bad event, because we might take actions because "we have to do something" but which have effects that are hard to undo. I borrowed an analogy @emacsen had provided me with the passing of the Patriot Act after 9/11, and then I realized that most of the people I was talking to either were too young to remember that or weren't alive (!!) for it
A lot of people were talking like there was an implicit assumption that there will be another #APConf. There could be, but it's clear that the community needs to spread out the organization of the next one. Probably FOSDEM dev room is a good start and the right thing for 2020; going forward, maybe another APConf would be good (I think structurally the format was very nice).
It's clear just how much we got done by meeting face to face. Let's make sure we don't lose that.
#apconf And cause falling asleep then I wanted to give that special #thankyou to @mlemweb because it was just utter fun to work with here and to both [ also to Her Majesty @cwebber ] for being friends and therefore also to @emacsen and @how and you know. And to @markm , all volunteers, talkers and attendees.
@cwebber's talk was absolutely amazing. Very thought provoking and full of well mapped thoughts. You should watch it when it goes online if you aren't here in #APconf#ActivityPubConf
I'm reading the OCAPPUB paper by @cwebber in preparation of the #APConf. It's very interesting, and I highly recommend #ActivityPub implementors to read and share it.
