hear me out. guitar music has died out because everything's recorded so close nowadays, everything's in the box, DI your guitar and slap on an amp sim, an acoustic drum plugin, and so there's no space anymore, everything's big and clear and dry, and that sounds really badfor any type of music that includes slop, like guitar music. it sounds janky but bad janky cos there's so ambience to compliment the slop. and you can't quantize a guitar. so guitar music had to die because it couldn't adapt
