@xj9 @datapup Hitler and Stalin killed a lot of people. They were both authoritarians. The soviet union wasn't really communist, or rather, the initial soviets were quickly banned and replaced by a central committee under what Lenin called "state capitalism".
If there is to be any sane future in which humanity doesn't self-destruct then authoritarian methods will need to be abandoned and replaced with a system where there is a more even balance of power and it's not concentrated into the hands of a few bad individuals.
