So I went down to the front desk, where they were trying to reset their whole system. Apparently, a technician had come out to service something and had flipped a software switch, so that now, every lock defaults to unlock after the first key scan. Since their housekeeping staff came in and partially cleaned the room, my door is unlocked until they fix this issue.
No, there was no announcement or sign. I just happened to walk up as two employees were discussing the issue and trying to enter codes to restore the traditional functionality.
