Currently media files are deleted only after corresponding notes have been deleted.
Tip for now: In order get rid of all media files, you can:
1. Create backup of #AndStatus data ( it doesn't contain media files)
2. Uninstall AndStatus
3. Install the same version of AndStatus and
4. Restore backup on the first launch.238333http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/post2018-03-13T16:10:56+00:002018-03-13T16:10:56+00:00http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/personhttps://loadaverage.org/user/5263andstatusOpen Source multiple accounts client for multiple Social networks, including GNU social, Mastodon, Twitter and Pump.io. Please do this if you see that the database is too large.
Your own notes, reposts and likes by you shouldn't be purged in any case... but I would create a backup first...
Regarding treating local database as a cache: cache is what can be re-read from a server, if necessary, but if you store data for years, like I do, you have in your local database content that may be unavailable at the original source. Or that source server may be already shut down... Moreover, I see posts telling that e.g. a timeline from #Mastodon is available for several _days_ only.238235http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/post2018-03-13T05:59:07+00:002018-03-13T05:59:07+00:00http://activitystrea.ms/schema/1.0/personhttps://loadaverage.org/user/5263andstatusOpen Source multiple accounts client for multiple Social networks, including GNU social, Mastodon, Twitter and Pump.io.
